It exposes a serious issue that if someone plays to the tune of the government he may get promoted though may not be deserving. In that case the government is putting some not capable in charge of this huge army and endangering the security and safety of the nation. It is time that the complete process should be gone into so that system works like a well-oiled machine.

MORALITY AND POLITICIANS

The conduct of our elected representatives is an indicator to all of us that we are fools and do not apply our mind while voting. The same party that organizes moral brigades to attack the valentine day parties, movies videos etc., has not taken any action against the offenders. These fellows have undermined the status of the pious institution of democracy. What an irony, people think that the remedies to their sufferings are being explored in the House whereas they are either snoring or watching PORN. Even having them on the cctv will they be able to give usual response that it is a ploy of the opposition. Let the party take a stern action and demonstrate its ideology.

GEN THAMBURAJ- MISCONDUCT

It is very disgraceful that the senior offrs are bent upon tarnishing the image of the Army. Strictest possible action must be taken against the guilty. How can he pass the buck to the staff? In Army when a veh meets with an accident hundreds of km away the CO of the unit is held accountable and in the same set up a Gen is attributing his misconduct to the staff and other offrs. The other point is that even if there are others involved he cannot be exonerated of the criminal offense. Whether he has benefited or not but surely he has embarrassed the Army as such.
One wonders if this approach of the present army Chief Gen VK Singh, that is no nonsense approach and zero tolerance towards corruption that is bothering the Govt. It is because of this clean image of the Gen Singh that we wish he wins the case and continues longer to clean up the system and also regains his honour.

The disclosure of a letter by MOD to Adj Gen to stick to the year of birth of the chief as 1950 has raised many serious issues and brought to the fore the dubious acts in such high profile selections.
Why in the first place was the chief asked to accept the year of birth as 1950, not once but thrice? That indicates that there were two years of births in the record. What was he asked to accept the year 1950? Did Govt not consider him competent to be in chair for a longer period, or did want to curtail his tenure to accommodate someone else?
If he was not worthy of the position why did the Govt ask him to accept wrong year of birth and lead the biggest Army in the world?
Where was the question of someone accepting or not the year of birth, it is a fact recorded at more than one place, so could have been authenticated beyond doubt.
All these developments are exposing the murkier side of the Govt functioning and arm twisting tactics.
It is Good that the modus operandi and the intentions of the Govt have been exposed.
The proceeding in the SC and the judgment will definitely bring more of the filth in the open and embarrass the Govt.

Mayawati accusing EC

Mayawati accusing EC of partiality should be taken with seriousness. It amounts to contempt of EC and her statement is instigating. She directly is threatening that people will come down on the roads, what does it imply? We have been independent for more than six decades and still are talking of Dalits. The country has carved a place for itself on the world map and we are harping on reservation for Dalits, OBCs etc. It is high time that the Dalits should take it upon themselves to ensure that they are not segregated / isolated under a separate banner. They are our brethren and should be part of main stream. Maya should be questioned as to why such a huge amount of monet has been spent for these statues when the state had so many necessities pending. Does Mayawati wants us to believe that Sh. Kanshiram wanted statues to be installed in place of schools, hospitals, etc. There is a need for the citizens to remain alert to ensure that the politicians are not allowed to waste money.

JLB and Team Anna

There is a lot of hue and cry on JLB. Team Anna is holding the democracy of 100 Crore to ransom, should it be allowed? The cause is just and so is the concern, but is the approach democratic / just. The issue is by acting like this hew of our esteemed fellow citizens are putting the Nation to shame.
JLB is all right and we should definitely have a strong LB but is it sufficient and will it bring corruption to an end. Why can’t we have a body like civil society with a wide spread network to act as watch dog. People report incidents to it and they tackle the matter in Gandhian way. This way we will be helping the administration and ourselves too in getting rid of the menace of corruption from our country. This may take time but can be effective.
It is strongly felt that team Anna should stop acting in a manner that embarrasses the Govt., and dilutes its position in the world.

Helpless Prime minister

It is a strange predicament for the PM. On one end we keep listening to statement from the leaders that allocation of portfolios is the prerogative of the PM and on the other parties bargain for a particular berth in the cabinet for alliance. This raises a doubt about the statement that the elected ones are there to serve. The smaller parties bargain for a particular ministry as if one is more lucrative than the other. If that be the case then one is left with no illusion but the fact that they are there to make money and benefit their kith and kin. It is quite surprising that their assets multiply at astronomical pace irrespective of the National growth.
If the leaders of the party have to always remain manipulating support to remain in saddle then there will always be merry go round on all the time. Why can’t the parties allow the PM to have his own team based on merits so that he may be in a position to provide efficient governance to the country, and take the country forward?
