CORRUPTION AT HIGH LEVEL

The menace of corruption is spreading like an epidemic and is leaving no walk of life untouched. There is an urgent need to take immediate measures to contain it. The only way it seems is to be ruthless while dealing with the corrupt. These greedy people are tarnishing our image in the world. Setting up of CVC or having Auditors in place are having no effect on these people and the reason seems to be that they know the pace at which the inquiry then proceedings in the court will move. The number of corrupts who have made use of their contacts and position is very large. These affected people like infected germs are spreading in our system like cancer. The only solution is early detection and amputation.

We need to train and equip a large number of doctors to take on this challenge of eradicating this epidemic. Government should react promptly and effectively before it is too late.

ACTING IN DISGRACE: Adarsh Housing Cooperative Society.

What a great shame these few disgraceful, shameless, blokes have caused to the most reputed, trusted, reliable, clean, apolitical, dependable body i.e., ARMY. All of us who have been part of this esteemed and most coveted body are ashamed for the conduct of few.

It is still the nurturing of the Army that has got a statement from these people to surrender the flats though nothing like this has been said by others like politicians, bureaucrats they are still busy finding excuse and ways out.

The Army has always been prompt in taking speedy action and setting an example. The act of crime committed is comparable to treason. They have betrayed the Nation the Army and uniform, they should be awarded the highest punishment under the earth.

They should be debarred from prefixing their rank with their names.

They should be isolated and instructions issued so they are not invited for any official function.

Their allotments should be annulled.

Speedy legal proceeding should be initiated by setting up special court.

Their passports should be confiscated.

Other financial deals processed during their tenure should be investigated.

They should be debarred from joining any other organization.

Traffic etiquette

Traffic etiquette.

Go on a morning walk, evening walk or drive during anytime of the day and one gets surprised that we call ourselves educated members of society. Parents driving their children to school bus, giving them their first lesson on driving, drive on wrong side of the road, honking away to glory. On the traffic signal not only covering the STOP sign but, covering the entire zebra crossing, leaving the pedestrians to fend for themselves. Covering the road for others having green signal thus narrowing the available road and endangering the others.
We are lucky to be in Gujarat where Mr. Narendermodi has done wonders by providing such wide and smooth road network. But it is very clear that roads may be any wide we shall remain unsafe unless we discipline ourselves. We need a tough traffic management network and strict action.
Let us get together to make the roads and our children safe.

Praful Patel at Chicago

The detention of Indian Minister at Chicago airport should be taken as National Interest and humiliation. The government should have a policy which ensures that the dignity of our politicians is maintained. How can a country bill our minister when we do not do so. We should remember that case of George Fernandis, Mr Somnath Chatterji etc. Time has come when we should act tough.

SECULARISM AT ITS PEAK

Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain Taking over the most sensitive command of XV corps speaks volumes of our faith in one and all. The proposal itself speaks loud and clear of our secular credentials. The rising of an officer to this level is neither by luck or design it is a pure display of of our impartial, unbiased, apolitical approach, fair evaluation system, etc., that has been once again displayed.
We all wish him the best of tenure ans success.

RAHUL-PM COMPARISON A MISPLACED ONE

The statement by Rahul Gandhi at Bhopal is a misplaced one. In fact there is no comparison between the intellectual, strong and experienced Prime Minister and Rahul Gandhi. It must be kept in mind that a person is known by the fact that with whom is he being compared with.

Please abstain from comparing and thus rather than improving the profile of Rahul Gandhi one ends up eroding the stature of PM. I am an ardent fan of Rahul and wish him all the success and good luck but by no stretch of imagination would like to place him on the same pedestal with PM.

PROVOCATIVE NEWS CAPTIONS.

It is observed that most of the time the heading / title of the news item sound accusing the right side or judgmental. At times one comes across headings like, Bus driver crushed a motor cyclist, police while controlling mob killed five men, security forces cordoned the village and lined up the villagers etc. Though such provocative statements might have been used to promote sale or sensationalizing the news but it is not fair.e to the people involved.

It must be kept in mind that the people are performing their legitimate duties and that too difficult and thankless one. Under the circumstances the least the media can do is to put appropriate caption e.g., four NDFB militants died in encounter, cyclist met with a fatal accident, security forces carried out a cordon and search operation etc.

MYLAYAM SINGH: IRRESPONSIBLE STATEMENT.

Once again it is the politician who is trying to sow the seeds of hatred and flaring communal disharmony. This statement is, and should be considered as contempt of the judiciary. One would more than agree, for a change, with Ms. Mayawati when she sends out caution to people for making such provocative statements. The center government too should not remain a mute spectator but act in time to arrest this trend. All the political leaders across the party lines should condemn the statement give by Mulayam Singh in cohesion.

Another startling fact is that the Muslim leaders, be it political or religious have displayed a very mature stance by commending the verdict and at the same time advocating the obvious course of action i.e., approaching the Supreme Court if considered appropriate. Their appeal for harmony and peace deserves accolades from one and all.

All the citizens are requested to be vigilant and ensure that they do not become bait for the political leaders to attain their ulterior and selfish motives. Let us all get together and defeat all these Anti National people.

SUPPORT- IAS- OFFICER- RAJU SHARMA

All the right thinking and educated Indians who want to put an end to whimsical and high headed attitude of politicians must come in support of the harassed IAS officer Mr. Raju Sharma. The political bosses use the threat of posting to make bureaucrats to dance to their tune. Though one may say that the individual must stand for injustice all by his own self, but it is easy to say than practice. When the education of children is involved it becomes a weak point and the individual gets exploited.
Let all those who matter and those who do not support this brave and courageous bureaucrat.

SELF STYLED LEADER LEAVE KASHMIR ALONE

It is surprising that a few persons for their ulterior motives are holding the future of Kashmiris to ransom. These few have never won an election and still claim to represent the Kahmiris. If they are so much interested in the well being of the people why don’t they join the main stream and prove that they are the true representatives of the people?

The second thing they need to answer is that if somebody attacks their home or property will they not retaliate? The act of putting ablaze government property and putting the life of commoners to danger is a serious issue and those responsible for providing security have to act to stop the act. The law enforcing agencies are using sufficient restrain in use of force but when situation demands they have to act. On the contrary if they are true well wishers they should advocate deterrent action to discourage such violent acts.

Next they must tell the people what they will give to the state which this country has not given and how? Can they set up industries, lay railway tracks, set up educational institutions, promote tourism, spread road network, provide airways, supply electricity, etc. The answer is loud and clear No, then how can they benefit the citizen? They are creating obstacles in the progress of the state and should be held responsible for the current unrest in the state.

The hardliners are requested to work in the interest of and for the betterment of the state.

DECLARING AIYER A REBEL: NOT FAIR

It is once again a matter of great concern that an individual expressing his thoughts / point of view is being compared with revolting. Does it mean that when an intellectual joins he should stop thinking? Does it imply that on joining a party or being part or government one has to follow group and keep personal views in safe custody beyond the reach of anyone. Is this a true democratic approach? This is a question that we all should ask, for if it is true many thinkers may avoid being part of a group devoid of intellect.

Coming to the current issue. Looking at the living condition of our brethren spending 70,000 crore on sports definitely appears to be a wastage. The argument that it is for image building does not hold water, since eradicating poverty; making education and medical facilities available are also image building activities, so what wrong is Mani saying? Mani reminds us of the approach on foreign policy and stand we have taken in the past or he advocates that the Panchayat should be involved in developmental activities of the area etc., and for this positive approach we declare him a rebel, are we fair to him?

Let the democracy grow and flourish without gagging or branding if we are interested in a healthy democracy, which I am sure we all are.

Keep it up Mr. Mani Shankar Aiyer, the government needs to be poked and forced to think and this can be done by people like you. Just by somebody naming one a rebel one does not become one.

RESPONSIBILITY OF MEDIA.

It is a fact that but for the relentless effort and hard work the inactions of the people at the helm of affairs can’t come to light. It is their effort that opened the eyes of the people to the epidemic of corruption, the huge amount of Indian wealth stacked in safe heavens, the black money stored by the leaders and high ranking officials in novel ways; the misuse of authority and position, etc., the list is an unending one.

Having said that it is felt that we are Indians and are responsible to safeguard the dignity, position and prestige of our Nation. In this context the timing and the time / space given by the media to a particular disclosure / act is of paramount importance. By no stretch of imagination it is suggested that the issue should be pushed under the carpet. The issue at this point is that of CWG. It is felt that if all the connected aspects i.e., corruption, condition of village, collapse of bridge in case were not given so much air then it is felt that humiliation / damage could have been less.

22 September, 2010

CWG - WHAT A HUMILIATION

The front page photos and the repeated news on all the TV channels reflect nothing but one fact and that is for the world to know that we have a real thick hide. What a disgrace that the inspecting committee forms a view that the village is inhabitable. To add to the insult is the collapsed bridge. This all after the disgraceful disclosure of bribery and even the position of Mr Kalmadi.
One is even more surprised at the statement of the Delhi CM, the contractor has been black listed. What a punishment for bringing disgrace to the nation an causing injury to 27.
The nation should seek an answer from these leaders as to why the contractor, the engineer, the government officials responsible for inspection etc., were not put behind the bar immediately.

ROTTING GRAIN-HUNGRY POOR – GOVERNMENT Vs SUPREME COURT.

ROTTING GRAIN-HUNGRY POOR – GOVERNMENT Vs SUPREME COURT.

In some parts of the press it appeared that the government was contemplating to bypass / hoodwink the Supreme court. The argument that in case the procurement is capped to the storage capacity then the farmers will be forced to go to the local dealers who will exploit them somehow does not go down well. Does this mean that the government has become so generous that it is ready to sacrifice the badly needed funds for the welfare of the farmers? The Government needs to be reminded, that we still have a very large chunk of population below poverty line. We do not have our education system in place and health care is a far cry. The economy starts shivering at the slightest breeze anywhere on the globe. Numbers of our states are under the influence of violence, the road network development needs funds, Communications are developing and need more funds and focused attention, Judiciary needs expansion for speedy delivery of justice etc., the list is very long. Under the circumstances the approach of the government as appeared in the media appears to be void of reason. Even if it is to help and protect the farmers one fails to comprehend as to what is wrong in free distribution of the grain to the poor and hungry rather than allowing it to rot.

Let good sense prevail and the wise decision of the highest court in the country be honoured and followed.

Naxal Terror

The news headlines stating that the search operations have been intensified would not be of any use or consolation for the affected families.

The assurances by Chief Minister or for that matter even Prime Minister cannot provide any solace to the families whose future is doomed.

It is surprising that why the people do not recognize their own strength. They need to identify their true leaders , and the leaders must take it upon themselves to see to it that justice is meted out to the people.
We see the people coming on the road at the drop of hat to protest a minor accident, mistreatment at hospital, traffic police holding a law breaker, police arresting a leader for a serious criminal act, etc. The point we all have to understand and accept is that no agency can provide security to everybody at all the times and at all the places. It is we, the citizens who have to take initiative, realize our responsibility and act. If all the people take it upon themselves the responsibility of being law abiding citizens then only can we see the dawn of peace, progress and happiness. We must follow the rules and apply peer pressure on others. By no stretch of imagination it is being suggested that anyone should take law into his / her own hands, but we must provide the much needed helping hand. If all of us remain vigilant then the day is not far when all of us will feel secure, safe, and happy. This only will get us the true benefits of democracy as well as prosperity. If we remain committed, vigilant, and together in our moment towards our responsibilities then we will have lesser traffic violation, no littering of roads, no domestic violation, no exploitation of children and poor, no ill treatment of elderly, etc.

ALL OF US MUST MAKE A COMMITMENT TO OUR OWN SELF THAT WE WILL NEITHER TOLERATE NOR INDULGE IN ANY UNLAWFUL ACTIVITY. WE WILL HELP THOSE IN NEED OF IT.

MAMTA BANERJEE : NEED TO BE BRIDLED.

It is in response to the news item Mamta deployed RPF for Lalgarh Rally, kept center, state in dark.
It is very surprising for a commoner to comprehend the ideal that our ministers can and do use the National assets at their own discretion and in accordance with their own whims and fancies. The act in question has larger ramifications. One has to just visualize the financial burden that the exchequer has to bear. The people in uniform are scantily equipped, they don’t have sufficient family accommodation, they work in hostile environment, they are not spared for training, they lack necessary equipment etc., but still we use them as our personnel asset.
We are allowing our leaders to take us for a ride. Has the honorable Mamta Banerjee ever thought if something had gone at Lalgarh what would have been the consequences. Who would have been held responsible for the loss to life and property. How can a Minister be so selfish as to compromise someone else’s security for personal gains or security?

This clearly indicates towards one thing and that is they care two hoots for the Government , people, parliament ( to which they are answerable ), Prime Minister, etc. They give such lectures that anybody would be impressed with that but now people have started understanding.
The authorities must take the culprits to task and clearly send a message loud and clear the nobody will be allowed to compromise with the life and property /assets of the Nation. The Government is custodian and is obliged to protect the interest of its citizens.

CBI and Mayawati

In response to the news item that the Supreme Court has deferred the Mayawati case. What an excuse and the honorable court agreeing to. How can one believe that there is only one lawyer representing her, One is quite sure that there would be a battery of lawyers defending her and her case.

SPORTS FIXING.

It is very shameful and disgraceful conduct by the sports persons. We have been taught that sports specially the team games have strong influence of the all-round development of one’s personality and character building. This is the reason that everybody is encouraged and motivated to get involved in team game.

The sports imbibe in person the much desired qualities like, helping attitude, sacrifice, concern for others, tolerance, unrighteousness, courage of conviction, discipline etc., the list advantages of sports is very very long.
We come from a humble beginning, most of the sports persons started playing in the lanes, on the roads, in the empty plots of land, etc. There are few who were fortunate to have had access to modern coaches / training facilities.
Coming from such a beginning our sports persons are stinking rich and have established business chains. One fails to understand as to where will all this appetite for money lead to. The exposures indicate that there are no moral values left anymore.

The players have not only disgraced their family or country but they have tarnished the image of sports persons / sports men who are global personality. Nobody can be given the liberty to play around with the reputation of a global community. It is for some greedy and selfish persons that the whole sports community is getting a thrashing and getting in disrepute.

It is the need of the hour that strongest possible condemnation should be done of the episode and the persons involved in particular. We must send a clear message that there is going to be no breathing space for such persons on our globe so that people abstain from getting involved in such unethical and disgraceful activities.

CHEATING JUDGES …….

It in response to the news item “Judges writing LLM examination caught copying”

The issue is not the suspension of the judges by the Andhra Pradesh High Court for cheating in their first year of LLM examination, but the bigger question is that is it sufficient to have same punishment under the law for the same offense for all.

I was pondering if the punishment for breaking traffic rules by a commoner and a traffic police person should be same. Punishment for a police officer or a judicial officer engaged in smuggling, rape, theft or murder be same as for an established gangster or criminal. Atrocities on women or domestic violence for an educated high profile person and a slum dweller should invite same quantum of punishment.

Any person with normal IQ would agree that the treatment of the cases against those in power / custodians of law / public figures / educated / etc., should be entirely different, not only different but it should be most deterrent and passed on at the fastest possible pace. At times one is constrained to believe that the delay is by design for the people to forget. The people who are in public domain and are in the know of the nitty-gritty of the law use it to their advantage. First response as that they have been framed, then they get sick to avoid arrest. Just we have heard that CBI has stated that they are ready to file a charge sheet against a high profile politician of UP after years have lapsed. People indulging in contempt of the court are also generally public figures and one sees that nothing happens to them. Recent visuals of a tea stall owner in Mumbai being beaten blue and black by a police man with his belt, who himself was in drunk as per police report, in full public view were quite disturbing. Police official claimed that the person was doing dadagiri, is this the way to impose authority?

These serious issues should be addressed and public opinion built up. This important responsibility can only be shouldered by the medial

SCAMS SCAMS SCAMS …….

The ex-CM accused of masterminding Rs 1000 crore PDS scam which came to light in 2004 is being arrested now i.e., Aug 2010. What a mockery. The person has enjoyed all the privileges, status, the ill earned money, etc and now at the age of 61 is being arrested. What sort of message will the common man get out of this. Why has it taken so long to arrest the culprits and bring them to the book? We say law is same for everybody whereas what comes to light is completely the opposite of it. A clerk / policeman, banker, drunken driving accused etc., a driver meeting an accident are so promptly put behind the bars and the influential people be it DIG Rathore, Mr Kalmadi, Mr Pardeep Gandhi ( from Chhattisgarh expelled from lok Sabha being found guilty of taking money for raising question in parliament, Operation Duryodhan ), Mr Lalu Yadav ( Fodder Scam ), Miss Mayavati, Mr. Pappu Yadav the list is just unending., keep avoiding arrest / legal action indefinitely. Even they are arrested they by coincident develop health problem and land up in hospital instead of Jail their right and just abode.

The other painful thing is we never come to see any final judgments coming out in high-profile cases. In is felt that in case a running ready reckoner is maintained and published at regular intervals will keep the persons / agencies involved on their toes. It will also keep the people informed and hopeful that the judiciary is taking its course and justice will be meted out. In addition it will act as a prompter for the judiciary to act in a speedy manner.

Salaries to Imams, Mahants, Priests, Granthies etc.

Salaries to Imams, Mahants, Priests, Granthies etc.

It is very surprising that there are numerous government employees or otherwise who are working for the people whom we are not able to pay and we are talking of paying the religious preachers. We are generally orthodox people who generously donate at the places of worship. Most of these places are worth crores and crores of rupees with an almost similar holding of precious metal.

One is baffled at the approach of these politicians that it is painful that we have such elected members who are there to grab the assets of the state for themselves, their kith and kin, or doll out for others to meet their aim of gathering votes.

Why no politician pays the salary to the priests of their faith when their own holdings are huge. The people have not forgotten the fodder scam ”more than 1000 crores, the telephone scam “in which Rs 1,500 crore was allegedly pocketed by politicians and bureaucrats—and from whose houses in New Delhi and Mandi the CBI recovered Rs 3.67 crore in hard cash.”, another Politician from UP making memorials worth hundreds of crores of public money, another one spending crores and crores of rupees on birthday bash up, etc. The list of such lavish expenditure, hoarding, scams, misuse etc is unending.

The politicians must keep in mind that they have been entrusted the responsibility of looking after the interest of the people and not work against it. The following from the life of Socrates
“Socrates realized that the Oracle was correct, in that while so-called wise men thought themselves wise and yet were not, he himself knew he was not wise at all, which, paradoxically, made him the wiser one since he was the only person aware of his own ignorance. Socrates' paradoxical wisdom made the prominent Athenians he publicly questioned look foolish, turning them against him and leading to accusations of wrongdoing. Socrates defended his role as a gadfly until the end: at his trial, when Socrates was asked to propose his own punishment, he suggests a wage paid by the government and free dinners for the rest of his life instead, to finance the time he spends as Athens' benefactor. He was, nevertheless, found guilty of corrupting the minds of the youth of Athens and sentenced to death by drinking a mixture containing poison hemlock. According to Xenophon's story, Socrates purposefully gave a defiant defense to the jury because "he believed he would be better off dead".
The politicians should act in a sensible manner and ensure that due justice is done to the responsibility they have been entrusted with. The quality of self sacrifice is very important. They should transact business of the house with total focus on the development of the people, the country and ensure that the meager recourses of the country are protected and put to the optimum benefit of the people.

Salary of MPs

What a mockery the MPs are making of the democracy. They are comparing their salary with the bureaucrats, one is surprised as to how can you compare when there is nothing to compare. One can compare similar things / objects but one doesn’t find any similarity.

Bureaucrats study, pass the most competitive examination in the country. They are highly qualified, most of them are holders of Masters degree and many are with doctorate degrees, many are professionally qualified engineers doctors etc. These bureaucrats are working under some rules and regulations, i.e., they have some leave authorization, they are posted from one place to another, they are the ones who are made scapegoats when anything goes wrong, they are held accountable. These people start at the lowest level of the cadre and get promoted based on their performance and confidential reports.

Look at the politicians / MPs. With few exception like Mr Chidambram, Mr. Sibbal, Mr Arun Jatley, etc. most of them are found lacking in their conduct qualification and mannerism. They do not attend to even the parliament for which they have been elected. The exposures have even clearly shown that they demand money for raising a particular issue / question in the Parliament, what a shame. They have number of cases against them ranging from bribery, embezzlement, rape, murder, etc. The beauty is that in all such cases they have only one statement that is” it is conspiracy of opposition” One wonders why can’t they be treated as normal criminals whenever situation arises, if it is found to be a conspiracy then those responsible should be given exemplary punishment. Such an approach will build up the confidence of people in the judiciary as well as Democracy.

With these credentials and having unending list of so called perks how can they even dream of equating themselves with the public servants?

Cattle joining their own two footed brethren.

Cattle joining their own two footed brethren.

Walking on the road alone gives one sufficient time to think independently. That is why it is recommended that one should walk alone and that too long distances. Today during one such outing when I saw a herd on the road a sequence of thoughts started taking shape in my mind.

Firstly the cattle were at a place not meant for them and they were obstructing the traffic. But what then so were the two footed so called most elite and developed spices on earth doing at the Traffic signals.

When the court directed the Municipal corporation to ensure that the cattle nuisance is curbed we had a host of animal lovers joining the owners of the herd shouting their throat hoarse naming the act as an atrocity. Has anybody visited the neighborhood of these so called sympathizers of animals and seen how many animals are around.
It is very easy to lecture than to practice. Since the animals are endangering someone else’s life and property we are lectured on cruelty to animals. In fact it would be a sight to see the reaction of these very people when God forbid they or their loved ones are endangered.

Coming to Traffic, seeing the men women on two wheelers, auto Rikshas and cars creating a road block at the cross roads under the very nose of traffic cops one wonders why is the status of the uniform being allowed to tarnish. People are not just bothered about the presence of cops and keep violating the traffic rules. Keeping in mind the violators of traffic rules one is sure that even if the government doubles the numbers and directs these people in uniform to act as per law they will generate so much revenue that not only their salary but sufficient funds for installation of latest surveillance gadgets will be catered for.

In addition to this so many lives will be saved traffic will move faster and smoothly.

MOSQUITO BREEDING- AIM TO HELP OTHERS

A walk on Prahlad garden Road is must to appreciate the efforts of many in particular The Income Tax Department for their sincere effort in promoting Mosquito Breeding. It is not without purpose that they have adopted this project. Firstly they have retained rain water in their, otherwise, vacant lying plot which was inaugurated with great pomp and show by non other than Mr Pranb Mukherji. It is here that their entrepreneurship comes up. They have successfully avoided soil erosion as well as wastage of rain water. They have communicated the policy of live and let live as well as non-violence. Not only this they have provided additional business opportunity to the laboratories, and pharmaceutical industry. They have set an example for others to emulate and it is this leadership that has encouraged few other to start pilot project in their plots.
This is also a deliberate effort to test effective planning and execution of AMC drive for eradication of disease. The above narration clearly gives an indication of the result.

WHAT A WAY TO PROTEST

WHAT A WAY TO PROTEST

The pictures of burning Government [ Note: in fact our own ] property appearing day in and day out are a clear reflection of lack of maturity, misguidance, misguided youth, lack of education, intolerance, lack of faith in our elected leaders, no confidence in democracy etc. The stone pelting mob at the police, mob justice, self styled bodies becoming custodians of our cultural values, are all the signs of barriers in our way to progress.

We should consider the situation as if it was posed to an individual, what if somebody burnt our car, scooter, or thrashed or children / ladies for we did not agree to their point of view. Would be tolerate ever such a reaction, in fact we would retaliate with all our might and available resources. Sop, what wrong does police do when it uses Lathi Charge or water cannon, and when we still do not respond with firing. In this reaction somebody gets injured we once again resort to same violence and this vicious unending circle carries on.

We all must restrain our selves from being mislead and used by few for their ulterior motives. We all must ensure that our property and our lives are not destroyed. The youth are the invaluable tools of progress and the same should be preserved and trained to be law abiding responsible citizens so as to be ready to take over the reins of the Nation.

GOD BLESS

Independence day Commitment

Heartiest congratulations to all The citizens on the occasion of of our Nation's 63rd Independence day. It is a day where we all must carryout introspection and then decide for ourselves if we have lived up to the standard. Have we contributed our little bit to make our country proud. Can we recollect any noble / worth mentioning deed throughout the year.
My point is even if we could not or did not do anything worth mentioning then the least we can do is to make a commitment to our own self to contribute to the progress and prosperity of our great nation " Mera Bharat Mahaan".
We should make a commitment that we will fight Corruption, will not tolerate injustice, we will not be party to destroying / damaging public property, We will not support any group without first accepting their ideology. We will help eradicate illiteracy, poverty, educate our group towards healthy living, cultivate amongst younger generation respect for elders, patriotism, value of life, develop tolerance, etc.
The list is pretty long and all of us know it. The issue is only to remember it, chose our field of interest and make a commitment.

TRAFFIC WOWS

In a fast growing metro like Ahmedabad is observed that though the government may do anything possible under the sun but nothing is going to ease the problem unless we the citizens co-operate and learn. In fact the, reality on ground indicates that we behave worst than even the animals. We see that the parents, the school vans, the auto rikshaws break the rules without even bothering for the fact that we are inadvertently training our younger generation on the wrong footing. People have no regard for the traffic signs painted in bold letters on the road.

It is pathetic that in the presence of the traffic police the tow wheelers drive on track meant for the cyclists. They cross the Zebra crossing and block the passage for the traffic which gets green light. This bottleneck slows the traffic and also endangers the lives of others. In addition those who can move to the left are also not allowed to move by the cluster of Two wheelers / even at times by Buses / cars. This further adds to the blockage of traffic. Then there are those who have to move to the right but are standing at the left most edge of the traffic column, and when the traffic gets green signal and starts at breakneck speed these fellows appear right in front of the straight moving traffic. The worst is even after breaking all the rules they meet with an accident then they have the face to fight too. Not only this others join in and add to the commotion.

Will the authorities take a note of it

Turmoil In Valley

What a pathetic scenario. One fails to understand as to why the poor young men should form part of such protests at the first place. I have never heard that the leaders behind the protests ever getting hurt. These so called leaders instigate and make us scape goats. We who have everything to lose should be wise and act in a sensible manner. One is pained at the thought of visualizing the future of these young men. All our symapathies are with the ones hurt and request the young men to take a lesson and donot become tools in the hands of few.Lt Col ( Retd ) IB Dutt

CHAUHAN V/S ARJUN; MUDSLINGING

The verbal spat between the top notches of politics is shocking. Why can't Mr Cauhan and Mr Arjun Singh be advised not to wash the dirty linen in public and get the already battered image of Indian politicians take further beating. The leaders must keep in mind that their each move is followed by the people they lead, it is for this reason that they have to be above board in their conduct.

God may give them some wisdom

12 August, 2010

The acts of our politicians are making us all hang our heads in shame. It is becoming an unending sequence of exposures of the greed and disgrace with which our so called leaders are conducting. The stage has come where Mr Chindambaram has displayed courage to ask the Lok sabha to accept its part of blame and sympathize with the victims of Bhopal Gas tragedy. We must keep in mind the only sympathies do not work the government must extend all possible help in terms of treatment, jobs etc.
People involved in CWG scam must be taken to task and that too in an expeditious manner so as to set an example for others.

ARE WE CITIZENS OF A FREE NATION.
1. The happenings of past couple of days have forced the law abiding citizens to ponder on the illusion that we are a free Nation, ours is a democratic government where we are supposed to be entitled to some fundamental rights. 3. It is coming out that some factions are imposing their sovereignty over certain parts of our country. It is appearing that we are heading towards another patrician. We the patriotic Indians were raising much hue and cry when some of our brethren discriminated against in Australia. One wonders is it justifiable when we are discriminating against our own countrymen in their own country. 4. Considering the current row over MNIK. One doesn’t have to be a genius to see that there is nothing wrong or unpatriotic in the statement of SRK. Even for a moment we think that not only his but anybody passing a defamatory, derogatory, divisive, provocative, humiliating, unpatriotic statement then there is a judicial system in place to take care. Who has given some organizations which are insignificant in overall picture of this great Nation. The other day I heard somebody saying that more than 100 Maharashtrians have sacrificed their life for the carving out of Maharashtra. I fail to understand the logic behind the statement does it mean that we need to maintain a state wise roaster for the brave hearts who have been fearlessly sacrificing their lives for the unity and safety of this nation. 5. There is an urgent need to come out of such narrow thinking and start thinking of country. We are one Nation and our well being lies only in thinking as Indians. We should make sure that these small parties / groups are dealt with sternly and with an iron fist, so as to send a message loud and clear the government and judiciary is supreme and we cannot allow anyone to take the state to ransom.
